How it works
I've taught many carvers over the last 10 years. Some of them are professional carvers today. My teaching method is simple and designed to build your confidence through practice and building technique.
We start with the basics of incised and relief carving then spend time on a practice stone before moving on to a good-sized block of limestone. We use Portland limestone for safety reasons. It is possible to carve on sandstone as long as a suitable face-mask is purchased beforehand- and used at all times.
The 2 day course is held in my workshop- I want you to become part of my workshop for two days and enjoys some company and learning (and coffee) in my happy place. Course fees are £250.
All tools, stone and PPE are provided, along with tea and coffee.
Bookings will be confirmed on payment of a £50 deposit or full payment. Gift vouchers are available.
Bookings can be rescheduled once as long as 2 weeks notice is given. If both course places are booked at the same time, additional dates can be negotiated, as can follow-up courses.
