David McGovern is a professional stone-carver working mainly in his local sandstone, but also in limestone and bronze. He is based in his native Angus in the North-East of Scotland.
David's work can be found in private collections, outdoor installations and museums.
Smaller pieces of work are offered for sale on this website and also at the many events David attends throughout Scotland from April to October.
David is a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, a member of the Scottish Artists Union and a Vice President of The Pictish Arts Society.

Our popular stonecarving courses are open to complete beginners and those looking to develop existing skills further.
Returning students are always welcome.
The courses will take place at Murton Farm or at Rosebank, Panmure Road, Monikie, Angus DD5 3QA.
There is plenty of parking space.
We will provide all tools, tea and coffee and safety equipment.
Tool sets will be available for purchase if required at the end of the course.
The course fee of £180 also includes a workshop visit or phone call to discuss objectives and carving subjects before the course.
We'll be carving in portland limestone.
Please send deposit of £50. The deposit is non-refundable but attendance may be rescheduled once within the same calendar year if required and spaces are available.
The balance is payable on arrival.
Courses are limted to 6 students to ensure the instructor-student ratio is sufficient to ensure the workpiece can be completed in one weekend.
Stonecarving Course Gift Vouchers, carved in slate, are available in our online shop. Vouchers must be used within 18 months of purchase.

One to one tuition is also available on a full and half-day basis.
